Flyer Overview

Challenge

Due to constantly-changing COVID-19 requirements and recommendations, EFC had to continually post updates to office policies for patients. The information was necessary for patients to see prior to entering the office; however, the original document posted on the door of the entryway was very difficult to read quickly and did not contain images to aid in comprehension.

Solution

The most important criteria for this project were (1) readability, (2) images to enhance comprehension, and (3) brand style. I had access to a hard copy of the original poster, the business' website, and the orange Pantone color code. Although I did not have the exact fonts or other style guide components, I was able to use font decoders to find a match to the text on the website and appropriate hex codes for both the orange and grey in the business logo.

The practice serves patients of all ages including young children, so I wanted to create a poster that was extremely simple and minimalistic in design. It was also essential to reference specific legal acts and I decided to pair the detailed text with a clear line image to quickly convey the message visually.

Result

The process of this project was principally a practice in editing and narrowing down layout and design options. I went through several iterations that originally included vectors featuring people and a wider color palette; however, a more streamlined and simple aesthetic better met the objectives of this task and aligned with key principles of visual design.

The client was very happy with the result and promptly replaced the original documents posted around the office. Additionally, the success of this project could be measured by comparing data on the percentage of people complying with the reminders from before and after the poster replacement.
